Managing Your Subscription

Manage your Cockato subscription directly from the Billing page. All payment processing is handled securely through Stripe.

Viewing Your Current Plan

Navigate to Billing from the sidebar to see:

Upgrading Your Plan

  1. Go to Billing.
  2. Click Upgrade or Change Plan.
  3. Select your new plan.
  4. Complete checkout via Stripe.

Upgrades take effect immediately. You'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period.

💡 Tip: Switching from monthly to yearly billing saves up to 20%. You can change your billing cycle during any plan change.

Downgrading

To downgrade to a lower tier:

  1. Go to Billing.
  2. Select a lower plan.
  3. Confirm the change.

Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You'll retain access to your current features until then.

⚠️ Important: Before downgrading, ensure your usage is within the limits of the lower plan. For example, if you have multiple outlets, downgrading to a single-outlet plan may require consolidation.

What Happens When You Downgrade

Managing Payment Details

Click Manage Billing to open the Stripe customer portal where you can:

  • Update your credit or debit card
  • View and download past invoices and receipts
  • Update your billing address and tax information
  • Download tax invoices for accounting

💡 Tip: Stripe sends payment receipts automatically to your billing email. Check your spam folder if you don't see them.

Cancelling Your Subscription

To cancel:

  1. Go to Billing.
  2. Click Cancel Subscription.
  3. Confirm the cancellation.

Your account remains active until the end of the current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the free plan with limited features.

After Cancellation

  • Your data is not deleted — you can reactivate anytime
  • Customers keep their wallet passes but won't receive push updates
  • Staff accounts remain but cannot process transactions on paid features
  • You can re-subscribe at any time to restore full access

Billing FAQs

Can I get a refund? Cockato follows a no-refund policy for partial billing periods. Contact support for exceptional circumstances.

What payment methods are accepted? All major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) via Stripe. Some regions support additional methods.

Is there a free trial? The Free plan is always available with core features. Paid plans can be tested by upgrading and downgrading within the billing period.

How do I update my billing email? Billing emails are tied to your Stripe customer record. Use Manage Billing to update contact details.
