Channel Partner Program Overview

The Cockato Channel Partner Program enables businesses and individuals to earn commissions by referring new customers to the platform. Partners play a key role in growing the Cockato ecosystem.

Partner Types

Cockato has a two-tier partner structure:

Partner TypeRoleCommission Source
Master PartnerDirect Cockato partnerOwn referrals + affiliate referrals
Affiliate PartnerOperates under a master partnerOwn referrals (shared with master)

Master Partners

Master partners are direct partners of Cockato with full program access:

  • Unique partner code and referral links
  • Commission on all referred customers' subscriptions
  • Ability to recruit and manage affiliate partners
  • Dedicated partner dashboard with full analytics
  • Commission tier assigned by Cockato
  • Share of affiliate-generated commissions

Affiliate Partners

Affiliate partners operate under a master partner:

  • Their own referral links and codes
  • Earn a share of commissions from their referrals
  • Simplified partner dashboard
  • Managed by their master partner
  • No ability to recruit sub-affiliates

How the Referral Process Works

  1. Share — Partner shares their unique referral link with a potential customer
  2. Click — Customer clicks the link (click is tracked and attributed)
  3. Sign Up — Customer creates a Cockato account (signup is attributed to the partner)
  4. Subscribe — Customer subscribes to a paid plan
  5. Earn — Partner earns commission based on their tier rates
  6. Track — All commissions are tracked in the partner dashboard

💡 Tip: The referral attribution tracks the initial click. Even if the customer signs up days later, the partner still receives credit.

Commission Structure

Commissions are structured in tiers with two rate periods:

PeriodDescription
Year 1 RateHigher commission rate for the first 12 months of a referral's subscription
Recurring RateOngoing commission rate after the first year

Tiers are managed by Cockato and can offer different rates based on partner performance, volume, or agreement.

Partner Dashboard

Partners access a dedicated dashboard to manage their referral business:

  • Overview Stats — Referral clicks, signups, active customers, total earnings
  • Referral Links — Create and manage multiple tracking links
  • Customer List — View all attributed customers and their subscription status
  • Commission History — Detailed breakdown of earned commissions
  • Affiliate Management — (Master partners only) Invite and manage affiliates

Affiliate Commission Sharing

When an affiliate partner generates a referral:

  1. The affiliate earns their configured share percentage
  2. The master partner earns a share of the remaining commission
  3. Both shares are tracked and displayed in respective dashboards

Commission share percentages are configured per affiliate by the master partner.

Joining the Program

The partner program is invitation-only:

  • Master Partners — Invited directly by Cockato
  • Affiliate Partners — Invited by an existing master partner

Partners receive an email invitation with a link to accept and set up their account.

📝 Note: See the "Master Partner Guide" for detailed master partner instructions, or "Affiliate Partner Guide" for affiliate-specific guidance.

Partner Claims

Partners can submit claims for referrals that weren't automatically attributed:

  • New Customer Claim — Claim a customer who signed up without using the referral link
  • Reassignment Claim — Request reassignment of a customer from another partner

Claims are reviewed by Cockato administrators and resolved with supporting evidence.
