Managing Referral Links

Referral links are the primary tool for channel partners to attract new Cockato customers. Each link is tracked independently for performance measurement.

  1. Go to Referral Links in the partner dashboard.
  2. Click Create New Link.
  3. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Instagram Bio Link" or "Coffee Shop Network").
  4. A unique referral code is generated automatically.
  5. Copy the link and share it.

Each referral link contains your unique partner code:

When someone clicks the link:

  1. The click is recorded with timestamp.
  2. The visitor is directed to the Cockato signup page.
  3. Your partner attribution is embedded in the signup flow.
  4. Attribution persists through the signup and subscription process.

Tracking Performance

Each link shows real-time metrics:

Conversion Funnel

Clicks → Signups → Paid Subscription → Commission
  100 25 10 💰

A healthy funnel converts 20-30% of clicks to signups and 30-50% of signups to paid plans.

  • Recent activity timeline
  • Revenue generated from referral commissions

Troubleshooting

Link shows 0 clicks but I shared it?

  • Verify you copied the full URL including the referral code
  • Check that the link is set to "Active"
  • Note that clicks from the same IP within 24 hours may be deduplicated

Signup didn't attribute to my link?

  • The visitor must use your link to reach the signup page
  • If they navigate away and return directly, attribution may be lost
  • Contact support if you believe an attribution was missed
